What You’ll Need for the Cauldron Oreo Pops

ingredients for cauldron oreo pops

Supplies

• Black candy melts
• Lime green candy melts
• Halloween sprinkles
• Popsicle sticks
• Paramount crystals or coconut oil (to thin the chocolate)
• Oreos (chocolate sandwich cookies)
• Medium-sized candy eyes
• Parchment-lined baking sheet
• 1 piping bag
• Scissors

Ingredients

• Chocolate sandwich cookies
• Candy eyes
• Black candy coating
• Lime green candy coating
• Popsicle sticks

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pops
Melt black candy melts in 30-second increments, stirring each time. If too thick, stir in 1 tsp paramount crystals or coconut oil.
  2. Insert the Sticks
Twist open each Oreo. Place a popsicle stick in the filling, top with a little melted chocolate, and gently press the cookie back together. Let set for 5 minutes.
  3. Dip the Cauldrons
Dip each Oreo into melted black candy coating, covering both sides. Gently shake off extra coating. Place on parchment paper to set for 10 minutes.
  4. Add the Potion
Melt lime green candy melts in a piping bag (microwave in 30-second bursts, kneading between). Snip off the tip and pipe “bubbling potion” onto the top of each cauldron. Immediately add Halloween sprinkles.
  5. Give Them a Face
Use melted chocolate to stick candy eyes onto the front. Pipe on a little green candy mouth for a spooky finish.
  6. Let Them Dry
Allow pops to set another 10–15 minutes until completely dry.

👩‍👧‍👦 Parent Tip: Let younger kids handle the sprinkles while older kids try piping on the potion and faces.

🍽️ Chef Tip: Work in small batches so the candy coating doesn’t harden before you finish decorating.

Pro Tips for Success

• Don’t skip thinning the chocolate—it makes dipping smoother.
• If Oreos crack when inserting sticks, use extra chocolate to “glue” them back together.
• Store finished pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Make these Cauldron Pops Your Own

• Swap in orange candy melts for pumpkin-themed cauldrons.
• Use edible glitter for a magical potion effect.
• Add candy worms or gummy frogs peeking out of the cauldron.

Tips for Grown-ups Assisting

• Help with microwaving candy melts and inserting sticks.
• Show kids how to gently shake off excess chocolate.
• Guide little ones when piping so the bag doesn’t burst.

FAQ from Chefs-in-Training

Q: Can I use white chocolate instead of candy melts?
A: Yes, just tint it with black or green gel coloring.

Q: My Oreos keep breaking—what can I do?
A: Use double-stuffed Oreos for extra support when inserting sticks.

Q: How far ahead can I make these?
A: Up to 2 days ahead, but store them in a cool, dry place so the coating doesn’t soften.
