What Equipment Should You Prepare?
You need the following tolls to help you with the pretzels decorating process, and I have personal recommendations for you. Just click on the name of each equipment for you to be redirected.
- Parchment paper, where pretzels will be laid after dipping them in a candy melt, or while decorating them with purple and pink stripes.
- Microwave Safe Bowls, containers used for the candy melts.
- 12-inch piping bags, used for piping out candy melts for stripes.
- Flower Mold, of course! To create the flower figure for the pretzels.
- White Fondant, for the pretzel coating.
- Pearl Luster Dust, is used to sprinkle the pretzels.
- Clean, dry Paintbrush.
What Ingredients Should You Need?
Likewise, ingredients must also be prepared and they are just few. You need to prepare the following:
- Snyders of Hanover Sourdough Hard Pretzels
- 5 oz Almond bark (or white candy melts)
- 2 oz Pink and Purple Candy melts
- a pea-sized amount of fondant

How to Decorate the Pretzels with Pink and Purple Stripes and a Flower?
To begin the pretzel decoration process, you need to melt almond bark or candy melts, first on high for 45 seconds, then for 30 seconds, twice more, stirring in between. Once melted fully, dip the front of the pretzel into the chocolate and allow setting for 15 minutes.
While setting, make the fondant roses. Take a pea-sized amount of white fondant and roll it in your hand to “knead” it and then press it into the mold. After 2 to 3 seconds, peel the rose out and set it aside to stiffen slightly.
Now going back to the pretzels, if you can still see the top of the pretzel through the chocolate, double-dip it. If it is fully coated, melt the pink and or purple candy melts by placing them inside a piping bag. Microwave on high for 30 seconds.
Mash the bag to smash the chocolate, return to the microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Once fully melted, cut a small hole in the bottom of the piping bag and make a zigzag pattern in one corner of the pretzel. Immediate add sprinkles.
Finally, let fully set then use a very small amount of luster dust to add some sparkle and shine. Wait for about an hour before bagging to reduce risk of smudging. Then, well done!

Chef’s Notes:
The type of pretzel is super important. They can be found on amazon and target if unable to find them locally. Moreover, if you use too much luster dust, it will b e difficult to add them to bags if using as a treat bag item.
