Classic Meatloaf
Equipment
- Loaf pan
- Large bowl
Ingredients
- 1-1.5 pound ground beef
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
Glaze:
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup sweet and spicy bbq sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt & pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375
- Sautée onions in olive oil until soft
- Add onions, Worcestershire sauce seasonings, bread crumbs and eggs to a large bowl with the ground beef.
- Mix using your hands, be sure to work the meat to evenly distribute all of the ingredients.
- Shape into loaf pan
- Bake for 30 mins uncovered in preheated oven.
- Combine all ingredients for the sauce together and whisk well.
- After 30 mins remove meat from oven, turn up the stove to 400, drain off excess fat and then pour glaze on top.
- Return to oven to cook for 12-15 min more mins.
- Let sit for 10 min before slicing.
