What are the Ingredients for the Fun-to-Make Gingerbread Cupcakes?
For this recipe, there are two sets of ingredients that are needed to prepare. The first is for the cupcake dough and the other one is for the frosting.
To begin with, the ingredients for the cupcake are the following:
- unsalted butter;
- packed light brown sugar;
- large egg;
- water;
- molasses;
- all-purpose flour;
- ground cinnamon;
- baking powder;
- salt;
- ground ginger;
- ground nutmeg; and
- ground allspice.
Next, for the frosting, here are the components to prepare:
- cream cheese frosting
- unsalted butter
- maple syrup

How to Make the Gingerbread Cupcakes?
There are only three basic steps to make gingerbread cupcakes.
Step 1: Mixing of the ingredients.
While you preheat the oven to 350, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Then, add in the molasses and eggs. After that, add in the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and spices. Next, add in the water and mix until combined.
Step 2: Baking the cupcakes.
Once the batter is ready, scoop evenly in cupcake liners. Then, bake for 18-20 minutes checking around the 15-minute mark. Once done, allow to cool completely before frosting.
Step 3: Making the frosting.
Now, using a store-bought cream cheese add one stick of butter and maple syrup. Then, beat on high until light and fluffy.

Ingredients
- For the Cupcake:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- For the Frosting:
- One can cream cheese frosting
- 1 stick of unsalted butter room temperature
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350
- Cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the molasses and eggs.
- Add in the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and spices.
- Add in the water and mix until combined.
- Scoop evenly in cupcake liners
