Easy Fried Rice

Make the perfect fried rice in under 30 minutes with this easy, customizable recipe. Packed with flavor and perfect for meal prep, leftovers, or a quick dinner.

Equipment

  • Large Frying pan

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • tbsp sesame oil regular or toasted
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic roughly 3-4 cloves
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups frozen peas & carrots
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cups ground chicken beef, pork

Instructions
 

  • Precook and chill your rice. (The day before or earlier in the day)
  • In a large skillet heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  • Add in frozen peas, carrots, and garlic and stir continuously, until tender.
  • Remember to keep your on a medium-low or you will burn the minced garlic.
  • Push the veggie mixture to the side of your pan (or to the outer rim like pictured).
  • Add another tablespoon of sesame oil add eggs in the center of the oil and cook as you would a scrambled egg.
  • Once cooked, mix together carrot, peas, garlic, and eggs.
  • Add in the rice, soy sauce, and meat (optional)
  • Turn the heat down to low and stir frequently to allow everything to heat fully.

Notes

White or brown rice can be used to cook fried rice.
I prefer to prepare the rice a day ahead of time.
Peanut oil or canola oil can work in place of sesame oil
You can add just about any veggie you would like that doesn't produce a lot of water when cooking
Any meat (chicken, beef roast, braised short rib, chopped ham, any protein) can be tossed in, just
make sure all ground meat is fully cooked prior to adding. Raw shrimp can be added, it will
need to be chopped small so it has time to cook through once added
