Along with preparing the ice cream from scratch, you can assemble this flavorful dessert using waffle cones, melted chocolate, and toppings that you love.

Must-Have Ingredients to Make Banana Split Tacos

Make these delicious Banana Split Tacos using these essential ingredients:

  • Whipping Cream. You’ll combine the whipping cream with a few other ingredients to prepare a light and fluffy center for your sweet tacos.
  • Dulce de Leche. Give your cream a caramel-like taste with dulce de leche.
  • Bananas. You’ll need two ripe bananas for this recipe! Make sure you mash them.
  • Whipped Cream. Add whipped cream to your Banana Split Tacos for the perfect touch.

You’re also going to need vanilla extract, maraschino cherries, waffle cones, and chocolate almond bark or candy melts, whichever you prefer to use.

What do I do after making my mixture with whipping cream?

After you combine the whipping cream with dulce de leche, vanilla extract, and bananas, spread it out over parchment paper on a baking sheet and freeze it for several hours. Let it stay in the freezer for a minimum of three hours before using a round circle cookie cutter to cut out frozen circles of the mixture.

Where can I find almond bark?

You can find almond bark at most grocery stores. It’s often in the baking aisle with other baking ingredients, including chocolate melts, sprinkles, and sugar. If you can’t find almond bark, candy melts are also fine to use.

Do I have to use milk chocolate almond bark or candy melts?

Chocolate almond bark or chocolate candy melts taste great over the ice cream. If you’re not the biggest fan of milk chocolate, you can always use white chocolate as an alternative for these Banana Split Tacos.

How long can I store the banana ice cream?

You can store your banana ice cream for up to three days. Because you’re using real bananas in the mixture, it can spoil if you try to save it any longer than three days. If you’d like it to last longer, don’t use mashed bananas. You can leave them out and replace them with banana flavoring, adding a bit of it to your cream mixture. If you do this, your ice cream will last up to two weeks.
