Peach Cobbler Bites

Growing up in the south, eating peaches was just a part of my life. As a kid, I totally hated peach cobbler! Like seriously. Something about hot fruit really bugs me, but these peach cobbler bites are perfect for people like me that prefer more crust than fruit.

Do I have to use canned peaches?

No! You can totally use fresh peaches for this recipe, I used what I had on hand and on hand, I had canned peaches leftover from the Peach Tea recipe I was working on. I will say this. Canned peaches are typically in syrup so they will be sweeter than using fresh peaches. Also, if you are craving these delicious bites when peaches are out of season, canned peaches are the way to go! So essentially if you want this anytime outside of May-July, peaches are not in season and canned peaches are absolutely the more affordable way to go. You can also use pre-chopped frozen peaches!

Is this a difficult recipe to make?

Ok here me out. This recipe is actually really easy but it will take a long time to create these delicious little pockets. My advice? Make this with friends. Invite them over to assist you in the kitchen. I'm a firm believer that beautiful conversations happen in the kitchen. So grab your friends (or family) to help you make these pockets!

What makes this recipe so delicious?

This recipe starts super old school. Add your peaches, brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, and spices to a pan. Cook it until it begins to bubble. A thick and luscious syrup will begin to form. As the peaches are cooking, begin to break them apart into bite-sized peaches.

Do I have to use wontons?

So I used wonton wrappers to make these pockets and tossed them in cinnamon sugar. You could use puff pastry or even rolled premade pie crust. While it won't be as light and airy as these are, it can still be delicious.
